Wash and chop them finely. Wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half. In a pan with the oil, saute the chopped shallots without letting them brown. Add the cherry tomatoes, salt and pepper and continue cooking, stirring from time to time. In the meantime, cook the pasta in plenty of boiling salted water, drain it ''al dente'' and serve with the prepared sauce. Top it off by sprinkling on some chopped basil and serve immediately.
